If you can't say anything nice ......

That is it! Finally got to give vent to my feelings! I'm fed-up of people 'having a go' at people. At the moment the media are particularly bad - they suddenly seem to be having pops at people who have done them no harm at all. What happened to the phrase "If you can't say something nice, say nothing at all."?

I can understand why some people are targeted but totally perplexed as to why U2 should be the latest addition to the long list of those who are used as the brunt of a cheap laugh.

Who do you think is an undeserving target?

My two boys aka Boris and Norris, have that saying "if you can't find anything nice to say don't....." all the time. It hasn't worked yet though - no matter how persistent we are, they seem to get an undue pleasure from criticising the other.

They will either grow out of this rather depressing character traits - or get jobs in tabloid journalism!

Hi THM - think they will grow out of it - ours all did, thankfully! I gather you would prefer that they do not pursue the tabloid journalism option!
The media critisisms that are truly getting to me are those that are deeply personal and totally unwarranted. Some coming from generally respected presenters on highly regarded quiz shows and etc. Satire is one thing - cheap laughs quite another.
